A Vogue Inspired Post

In the back of June Vogue, there were a few featured models (namely Gemma Ward, Hilary Rhonda, Sasha Pivovarova, Raquel Zimmerman, Caroline Trentini and Coca Rocha. But where is Daria??) I really liked the article because they were asked questions about their travels and I thought it was really interesting.

Just a side note, there were a lot of other pictures and everything that were in the article but it would have just taken up wayy to much room in the post. but check them out because they are great pics.

And just to amuse, I thought I'd make one for myself and I included some of my favorite questions. I'm sorry if some of the pictures didn't turn out very well, it's cloudy today and I was trying to take pictures in my room!

While I'm on the subject of travelling, I was browsing through the May issue of Instyle (one of my favorite magazines) with Jennifer Garner on the cover and I came across this cute short article on carry-ons. It pretty much left me drooling over practically all the bags they featured (I mean give me that black Chanel bag). Well here is the article in case you wanted to read it (if you would like to read the text, just click on it and it'll enlarge itself).

My pick for a carry-on.

Summer Serge Day Bag by Boyy $335
I really like this one because a) you can carry it 2 ways: as a tote bag or as a messenger kind of bag across your chest (which is great when you are wheeling a lot of stuff) b) there is a zipper compartment at the bottom if you want to put your books or magazines in and c) looks very chic (navy + white anyone?).

My pick for a suitcase.

Longchamp 22" Wheelie Suitcase $262 at www.magnums.net
Longchamp makes such nice handbags and suitcases! I love how all their stuff is made from nylon so it is water resistant it also has a ton of pockets!

Anyways, next topic...

So I was thinking about doing a new thing with posts on the weekend. I was going to feature a clothing item, an accessory of some sorts, a shoe and a picture for each week. Here it is. But I kind of need some feedback about whether you like it or not... (and I obviously added a few more things in each category since I may not be able to post in a while)

Week's clothing obsession:

Express Cotton Shorts $40
This are just so crazy cute! The zebra pattern in hot pink is so adorable and the gold detailing on it makes it even better!

Secrets of Charm Ingrid Dress $270

Rugby French Terry 3/4 Sleeve Top by Splendid $104

Lux Indio Embroidered Skirt $58

Week's accessory addiction:

Moyna Clutch $189

Glenda Shimmer Bangle at Urban Outfitters $16

Week's shoe must have:

Shellys London Fiji Thong $40
Remind you of a similar Marc Jacobs line??

Oh Deer! Santorini Flat $125

Faryl Robin Joy $149

Week's best photo:

ah Daria... haha

Week's Best Dressed:

Jessica Alba

Charlize Theron

Hillary Duff

Nicole Richie

Emily Blunt

Finally, last thing I promise. Does anyone else think that the metallic trend for nails is cool? Because I really can't decide... too star trek or neutral and pretty?

OK, so this is going to be my last post for a while (actually precisely about a month) because I am going away to camp for pretty much all of July. So unfortunately, no posting for me and I'm not going to be able to return comments! Sorry that it's been kind of back to back vacations... but I'm not going to leave you guys with nothing to read so hopefully this monstrous post that will last the whole month. Well I hope so at least because I spent a long time on it! Happy July, talk to you in August! (or rather blog with you)

Don't Worry About Her

So I know that most of us have heard about Paris Hilton and that she has to go to the slammer for 45 days beginning June 5th (well if you haven't- now you know). And I totally know that this isn't a gossip blog or anything but I just thought I'd do a funny post about the new heiress turned convict. So I really don't think that she's going to have a hard time adjusting to the strictly orange dress code by the looks of this pretty damn cute ensemble:

I actually thinks she wears it pretty well.

See? She has even been prepared for this moment for a long time can't you tell?

but anyways moving on, so I kind of got carried away and thought that I'd include a few orange accessories that can brighten up (haha get it?) her time spent in the slammer this summer.

Angea Dress by Diane von Furstenberg $298
Always need a dress for all those jailtime socials.

Smythson Stationary
I mean how else are you going to be able to communicate with the outside world? Especially your best friend Nicole? without your sidekick? How is that even possible?

BFF (AKA BEST FRENNEMIES FOREVER)

Solid Flip Flop by Havaianas $18
I mean- come on Paris you always need a good shower shoe since now you'll have to be sharing with other people (gasp!) !!

Sport Chrono Watch by Toy Watch $225
Always need to keep time.

Bitter Orange Potpourri Boxes by Agraria $175
A nice touch to the jail cell don't you think?

Girls of summer sunglasses by Fred Flare $9
To wash out all the harsh fluorescent light glare.

Lux Polka Dot Tie Top $32
I mean someone has to have chic clothes right? I mean the kind of clothes that are easy to wash because you are after all probably going to have to do your own laundry (gasp!) !!

Moleskine Notebook $15
An absolute must because I mean- how else are you going to be able to write down every thought and feeling for that tell all book that we all know is soon to follow your release?

Sorry guys got a little carried away but whatever. I was just in the mood to do a funny post.

So I was just looking online and I found these cute things...

Cinched Waist Strapless Dress by Splendid $140
So I don't really know why I love this dress so much but it's just so cute. I love the fact that a) it's strapless and b) it has all those cute buttons down it.

Lux Melange Tube Dress $48
Ahh another dress I totally love.

Tie Tank Dress by Karen Zambos Vintage Couture $198

Lux Santorini Dress $58
Ha- Look familiar?

OK enough of my rambling.

Wide-Leg Denim

Not really a new trend but I thought that I would do a post about it because a few of my friends have asked me tips on how to wear it. I've actually been experimenting with it and I really like the way the wide leg pants/jeans feel because I never have to worry about growing out of them and they feel so cool when I walk! I feel like I'm floating or gliding or something!

Celeb way:

My way:

The Jeans: I would go with a leg that isn't too overwhelming for your body type. If you're tall, you can go a bit bigger, but if you're petite, I'd go with a leg that isn't quite so wide. There are no rules behind this except to just go with the pair that feels the best and is most comfortable.

Aramus Wide Leg Jean by Notify $311

Sailor Jean by Grey Ant $253
To get in line with that whole new nautical theme this season...that will hopefully continue into fall and winter (hopefully???)

High Waisted Wide Leg Jean by Hudson $198

Orchid Wide Leg Jean by GoldSign $176

Lux Lightweight Denim Sailor Pant $68

The Tops: Go with a top that is both slimming and suitable for the occasion. Make sure that it isn't billowy though because the contrast looks good paired with the wide jeans. Anything from a nice blouse to a tee will work.

Viktor & Rolf Ruffle collar blouse $790

Misty Ruffle Neck 3/4 Sleeve Top by Ella Moss $111

Emmeline blouse by JCrew $78

Vena Cava for Glamour Limited Edition Tee by Splendid $68

Lux Polka Dot Tie Top $32

The Jackets: Depending on the shirt and style of pants, you can really go with any kind of jacket, cropped or regular. If you go with a cropped jacket, it will really lengthen your legs if you stick with heels while a longer jacket may have a more formal appeal to it.

Chloé Cropped Embroidered Jacket $1,800

Polka Dot Jacket by Alice + Olivia $330

Marc by Marc Jacobs Cropped Jacket $298

Cotton twill bib-front blazer by Banana Republic $88

Lux Short Sleeve Swing Jacket $68

The Shoes: Platform anyone? My suggestion would be to stick with high heels because flats or sandals will make your legs seem shorter and bigger while heels will make them taller.

Patent Platform by Marc by Marc Jacobs $495
Oh if only I could have these shoes...I want them so badly!! My favorites by far out of pretty much everything!

Lattitude Platform Sandal by KORS Shoes $210

Oh Deer! Mae Heel $125

Miss Sixty Peep Toe Slingback $180

Oh Deer! Metallic Heel $125

Belts: Almost Always a must with this style. In my opnion, the right belt really pulls the look together and finishes it off quite nicely. I just included one belt in here because, well are pretty basic and really depend on your budget and pair of jeans, but I will admit that I like this one quite a lot.

Patent Raffia Square Buckle Belt at Urban Outfitters $28

Just randomly looking online and I found these cute things... they're all pretty expensive for just a spending whim but I think that you could DIY for them and they're great for inspiration!

tiny dove necklace mixed by Adina $188

Rose Gold Maltese Cross Charmed Hoops by nathan&moe $173

Natural Rock Formation Necklace by Gara Danielle $207

Miguel Ases $290

Cutest towel ever!!

cape cod towel by Kate Spade $40
