hello lovelies!! well I have FINALLY returned to the blogging world... I am so terribly sorry it has been this long! and so much has happened in the time I have been gone! but, now that it is SUMMER (sorry for all you who are still in school-- it will come very very soon!) I will have a lot more time to blog (hopefully). but to start things off I will do one of my terribly rambling posts about what I am obsessed with at the moment..

1. this dress by Lux, $58 at urban outfitters

and while we're on the subject of urban outfitters, I am completely in love with these earrings... for $18?? complete bargain considering they are adorable

2. this dress from Forever21... despite my previous encounter with this store(which was horrible by the way)it has surprisingly gotten some cute things for spring/ summer.. and at a MAJOR BARGAIN! this cute thing is $24.80. and yes I admit that the color looks really bright and in your face on the web but it is really pretty in person...

3. sandals!! just a few random ones that I have sitting in my closet that I have been obsessed with for the past few weeks...

Dear Stuart Weitzman,

I was shopping the other day and in the shoe section I came across these things...

as well as these...

both of which gave me very bad flashbacks to the ones you designed in the spring (see not so much post) a.k.a. the lucite wedges. now me personally, I'm not fan of the see through look... but I'm not going to lie when I say I hate jellies. And combining the two above said opinions into one shoe is just completely... well... yucky. And I guess you tried to make them better by putting some sequins on them. I don't really think it works.

Truthfully, it just reminds me of some little dress up shoe for cinderella or something that you would buy in the Disney store for $5 not $115 or $120 (yes those are the prices).

So am I the only one who is not a fan of these shoes? Because some of the feeedback on zappos was actually surprisingly complimentary about how comfortable and stylish they are. Opinions please...

I have finally returned to blogging! My "little hiatus" as I called it took a lot longer than expected, but I started to miss blogging... and all of you, so I decided to come back. And now I am completely rested and ready to start posting again! But before that happens I am going to completely revamp my blog... thanks to some cool new inspirations. First off, so sorry about the lack of posts in like almost a month... I've seriously had no time whatsoever! I haven't really been around any of the past weekends because I've been out of town... but hopefully now I'll be more regular about posting! Sorry!

Who knew that JCrew makes really cute jewlery? I was just in the store the other day and I saw this adorable necklace, the online photo doesn't nearly do it justice but i'll do my best to to explain it. It has a lot of really cute lockets that are all different sizes and they are scattered all around the chain, it's also long so you can wear it doubled or just one strand. Sorry for that really lenghty description but I love it :)

So I know that it is a complete cliché to go 'back to school shopping' and I don't really but I just go on several excursions in late august/ early september and just kind of collect some things. So anyways, here is a post about what I really need to get...

(p.s. as one of my friends pointed out that I probably should explain, I consider back to school time period like september/october and everything beyond that is pretty much winter. yeah I know it's kind of weird but where I live, we have really distinct fall/winter and therefore it requires different dress! whoa that was a much longer than necessary explanation but whatever)

another thing, just so you all know, my fall wardrobe pretty much consists of pants/skirts, flats and cardigans. And looking back on it, I really repeated practically everything (so sorry for not being original).

I don't know about you guys but this is one of my favorite new trends mainly because I think that it is so versatile. I'd wear it with anything- brown, black, purple, blue... etc. etc. And I'm a huge fan of black and wear it all year round (not in a goth kind of way but in a cute way... well you get my point) and I think that grey may be my new black for the fall and winter- and that is really saying a lot.

Another thing I'm way excited about. Two-tone is awesome just with everything. My favorite would have to be the DVF number, I actually majorly splurged and bought it the other day just because I couldn't resist how gorgeous it was and I LOVE it! Even though it is only August, I've already worn it twice and I paired it with silver heels and a cropped summery jacket and it actually totally worked.

Well first off I am SO sorry that I haven't posted in over a week! So so horrible of me, especially after my long hiatus at camp and now this... how to pull it all off:

It's really all about balancing out the color, subtle and dark hues work great.
If you're going to go with the classic pink dress, I'd suggest accessorizing with black tights and either black chunky heels or booties. Like these:

I actually purchased this at the beginning of summer and it is amazing. It works so well on hair that spends time outside (think tennis) and it also protects from UV rays so if you have highlights (I don't) then this is the perfect thing for you. But it's just a really good cream nonetheless.

So I'm back from camp (hence the pic from 'the parent trap' picture-- best movie ever!!--)and oh my goodness, it has been FOREVER dearies... I mean a whole entire month?? What was I thinking? Anyways, after having successfully binged on all the junk food I can get my hands on I have finally got the energy up to do a post! Just a quick one because I am still trying to get all caught up on emails and reading my style.com newsletters and what's new from shopbop and etc. etc. etc... and summer reading on top of all that. Wow all that, I really do need to get started and do something... enough of my rambling and voilà the post.

So funny to say but I actually love jumpers to death. I used to wear them all the time when I was younger but I just went shopping and got a few, I think that they look great layered with t-shirts and you can always wear tights under them.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this necklace from Urban Outfitters. I love charms to begin with but this one is absolutely adorable and at a really good price too.

Oh and as for camp, I had an absolutely AMAZING time- so much fun! Here are a few pics if you want to see them:

A Vogue Inspired Post

In the back of June Vogue, there were a few featured models (namely Gemma Ward, Hilary Rhonda, Sasha Pivovarova, Raquel Zimmerman, Caroline Trentini and Coca Rocha. But where is Daria??) I really liked the article because they were asked questions about their travels and I thought it was really interesting.

Just a side note, there were a lot of other pictures and everything that were in the article but it would have just taken up wayy to much room in the post. but check them out because they are great pics.

And just to amuse, I thought I'd make one for myself and I included some of my favorite questions. I'm sorry if some of the pictures didn't turn out very well, it's cloudy today and I was trying to take pictures in my room!

While I'm on the subject of travelling, I was browsing through the May issue of Instyle (one of my favorite magazines) with Jennifer Garner on the cover and I came across this cute short article on carry-ons. It pretty much left me drooling over practically all the bags they featured (I mean give me that black Chanel bag). 1. I have an addiction to wearing my cowboy boots. But I don't really feel all that bad about it because I got them before Dukes of Hazzard came out and before Britney post babies started wearing them.

2. I really wish I could pull of black nail polish but unfortunately I can't.

3. I think that 'Little Miss Sunshine' is probably the best movie ever made, I'm not even kidding.

4. I am seriously obsessed with the show '24'. I'm not even kidding, I've bought all the seasons and I've watched them all at least 3 times.

5. I am insanely scared of bugs. Spiders, cockroaches, caterpillars (even if they eventually become butterflies, they still gross me out)... etc.

6. When I was younger, I used to always want to be one of the Disney princesses.

7. If given the chance, I will seriously eat Nutella as if it's my job. (and even as a joke, my friend gave me a collector's edition jar as a Christmas present)

She goes to flea markets and ebay to look for charms for her necklaces (which are all one of a kind by the way) and then she handmakes them. So unbearably cool and all the necklaces are reallly pretty and unique!

Zig Zag Tube Dress by Forever 21 $24.80

And again- for the record, my dress has about half of the amount of stripes as that dress and the yellow is softer and not so bright.

So here's the deal, the other day I went into one of my favorite vintage shops and I saw the most adorable vintage missoni yellow tube dress for $35. I know- pretty sweet. And usually I'm not a hugggge fan of Missoni because sometimes their zigzags give me headaches, but this dress was really tasteful and gorgeous. So of course I bought it. I took it to the drycleaners the other day (I'm kind of anal about that- if I ever buy vintage I usually always take it to the drycleaners... weird I know) and I decided to wear it this afternoon over a tanktop to go shopping. My friend wanted to run into Forever 21 to check out something she saw in the window so I went in with her. And by god if I didn't see my dress hanging there right in the front of the store. I mean, when I got up close and all that mine was way prettier and the colors were nicer but it was practically the same thing anyhow. So I told my friend and we kind of laughed about if for a few minutes and then we decided to leave, well I was walking out of the store and a salesperson came running up and grabbed my arm (ok so I don't know about you guys but I hate it when people just run up to me and just grab me- wherever it is) and she was like panting and she said "YOU HAVE TO PUT THAT DRESS BACK ON ITS HANGER!!!" (and she was screaming at this point). So I just kind of look at her really weirdly for a few seconds before it finally dawned on me, she thought I'd stolen that copy dress! Well I told her that I had gotten this dress at a vintage shop and by god if she didn't believe me, she forced me to come into a dressing room and literally take it off and show her that it wasn't from the store. Ahhh and it took like 20 minutes and everyone in the store was looking at me and stuff. So annoying- especially since I had just gotten it and I was all excited and stuff. Well anyways- sorry for my rambling but I am still a little miffed at the annoying sales lady.

Ok so anyways- I'm headed off on vacation in the islands for about the next week. So unfortunately- no posting pour moi. I always associate them with sky high heels that have red soles (à la Christian Loubotin- doubt I spelled that right) and anyways- I'm always on the lookout for flat shoes since I'm pretty tall and stuff. I've actually tried on a few pairs of Oh Deer!'s stilettos and surprisingly for all their height and sexiness, they are pretty comfortable. One of my friends bough the black patent strappy pair (

Tory has done it again...

OK sorry about the post- exams are this week for me so I made this post in about 10 minutes. I was a little rushed :-)

So as if Tory Burch's line couldn't get any better, she comes out with a new ballet flat. It totally resembles the Chanel ones and I absolutely love it! Thoughts?

She made one with a tan body and a silver toe but I like this color combination way better because I think it's more classic and elegant.

And here is a similar pair from Chanel (just ignore the boot thingy)... they are absolutely adorable (and I want them really badly) but truthfully, I much prefer the Tory Burch one.

Finally- here is an article from Teen Vogue this month about Chanel flats, if you have it, read this article because I never knew that the toe cap thins and lengthens your legs. It kind of makes me want to buy the Tory Burch pair. :-)

You guys must watch this clip! It looks so dramatic!

So I totally know that this is nothing fashion-reated but I'm not sure if I've been off the planet lately or whatever but I just found out that there is a TV show based on the series Gossip Girl!! Oh my god I am so excited! I love the series= amazing. Not to mention that this series will finally put a face(s) to the characters in the books because on the covers, there are people (I'm guessing models) but their eyes are never captured so you are kind of seeing half of a face...mysterious don't you think?? But anyway...if you haven't read the books you need to- they are so good!

And I will admit that the titles alone are just like begging you to read the books! Seriously- who isn't going to be interested in a book titled "You Know You Love Me" or "Nobody Does It Better"?

Ok so those were just a few of my favs but look out for the show which is coming SEPTEMBER 1ST on the CW!!!! (well sep. 1 was the last date I heard but that is so soon!!!)

"Sporty Chic" Gone Wrong

So this is a really random post (but aren't they always?) but I was looking on shopbop today and I came across these complete disasters... I mean I agree that I like looking sporty and everything but these are just ummm kind of hideous. I can't really decide which is worse- the lace up part with the peep toe and wedge heel or the velcro part with the peep toe and wedge heel. I mean- am I completely crazy that I don't like these? I mean I gues I'm partially biast because I've somehow never really caught onto the whole sporty chic look because I play tennis and I'm training almost all the time so I kind of get sick of the warm up clothes and all that (even though I find really cute ones, but still).

A pretty good balance between the two in terms of price and I think that the bodice is really interesting because the fabric kind of crosses over. Also the skirt is made from an awesome material.

Wide-Leg Denim

Not really a new trend but I thought that I would do a post about it because a few of my friends have asked me tips on how to wear it. I've actually been experimenting with it and I really like the way the wide leg pants/jeans feel because I never have to worry about growing out of them and they feel so cool when I walk! I feel like I'm floating or gliding or something!

Celeb way:

My way:

The Jeans: I would go with a leg that isn't too overwhelming for your body type. If you're tall, you can go a bit bigger, but if you're petite, I'd go with a leg that isn't quite so wide. There are no rules behind this except to just go with the pair that feels the best and is most comfortable.

Belts: Almost Always a must with this style. In my opnion, the right belt really pulls the look together and finishes it off quite nicely. One of my friends sent the above link to me (right under my header) to the breast cancer site. I think it's pretty important for everyone to try to contribute. Don't worry it's free, and every time you go there, money will be donated to a woman in need for a free mammogram, it could save her life, all you have to do is click. So I was looking online the other day and I came across these Juicy Couture flats...well I am like 99% sure that they took the idea of having the medallion on the toe from Tory Burch's line of footwear. Which I am a little- hm- how shall I say it? miffed? Because the Tory Burch ones are way cuter and for the most part less expensive (and she should have like had a patent put on the things because now everyone is copying the idea of having the elastic-backed flat for fall) Check it out- see the similarity?

And don't think I'm trying to be mean but in my opinion, they put the little gold thingy way too far away from the toe. I mean it may look way different when it's actually on someone's foot but it does look quite awkward and a little off center in this picture don't you think?

Spring 2007:

So sad but for some reason I could only bring myself to post one outfit from her fall/winter show. Even though all the clothes were absolutely gorgeous and you totally need to check out the collection at style.com, I really just can't even think about fall clothes because that means it's going to get cold again and I am such a fan of warm weather and going to the beach and being able to wear tank tops and shorts and skirts and...well you get the picture.

However this outfit does look quite nice. I am absolutely lusting after that camel coat paired with those boots...

And I was just looking online the other day and I found this adorable (if not overpriced) little clutchy thingy that I think is absolutely adorable! I probably will not be purchasing this one but I plan on looking out for a similar one in the future!

No it's not her new line for Topshop, even though I think that what I've seen so far is great- I'll leave it to the other bloggers to tell you about that. I know that it is really old news but I just wanted to post this portrait of Kate Moss that was taken for the National Portrait Gallery. So I do think that she's pretty in a way but I'm still not a big fan of her dating Pete Doherty and partying like 24/7 when she has a daughter at home. Not to mention the cocaine incident...but I'm not even going to get into that. So bottom line, she's not in my good graces at the moment but I do really like these photos of her. What do you guys think.

So I went to Target the other day with a few of my friends and I was so excited to see that Rafé has done a handbag line for Target. those bags were so cute! I want them all... I have a few of his nice handbags that I inherited from my mom and I was comparing them last night- the ones from Target are made so nicely, I know, not nearly as nice as his line but he paid such good attention to detail in these bags (i.e. plenty of interior pouches and zipper compartments). So being a complete handbag fanatic I had to make a post about it! Here are some cute ones...

And if you're not into hemp (I'm not really either but this is the only picture I could find online) they make them in suede and leather, both of which are equally as comfortable.

So I was in a store the other day, just browsing through the shoe section and I saw these Stuart Weitzman shoes. Hmm...how do I put this delicately? He kind of killed the whole PVC thing for me, even though I wasn't a big fan in the first place because having someone (or everyone) be able to see right through your handbag or whatever other accessories/attire you may be wearing has just never exactly appealed to me. But anyway back to the point... do you guys really think that he hit a homerun with these shoes? I'm just having some serious issues believing that they're going to be the next big thing.

Sorry if they're hard to see...it's a little difficult to find a good representation when the whole thing is pretty much clear. It kind of blends in pretty well don't you think?

Ok so I made this post like forever ago when the April issue of Teen Vogue (really liked that article on Willa Holland by the way, I'm in the process of making a post about her so check back in soon) came out but for some reason or another I never got to publish it...?

So simply, I am completely in love with this clutch from Nine West.

Perfect scenario:

2. was inspired by Marc Jacobs new collection

Only downside? It's out in May and from what I hear, there's a major waiting list.

My favorite new handbag! I love these things, they are roomy and are slouchy (I tried to find a picture that demonstrated this but couldn't). Adorable! (P.S. Gerard Darel is a French designer and his bags are a lot more expensive over here in the states so I suggest that you try buying them off of a legit French website becaue once you convert euro to dollar, you'll save quite a bit of money. Take this from someone who learned their lesson.)

Even though some may be a little on the pricey side...running upwards of $200...they are so totally worth it! Before everyone heads off for Spring Break, I want to share a few of my tips with you on how to not be burnt. I absolutely LOVE Kiehl's lip balm. I use it all the time on the beach and I use it while back at home a lot too. It has a mild spf in it so your lips will stay protected and moist. I also love the clinique sunblock, it may be a little on the expensive side but but is totally worth it. I use it sparingly several times during the day rather than globbing a lot on in the morning.

But just as a side note my other favorite for beach stuff is Neutrogena, I love the products for pretty much everything. Their lip balm is really good and the sunblock works very well.

So I know that some of you have seen the adorable circle pendants that a lot of the celebrities wear (i.e. Denise Richards, Heather Locklear, etc.). These necklaces are from the brand Adina, created by Adina Reyter in 2001. They range in prices anywhere from $40 to $5000. Her "Signature Colection", including the circle was and still is a big hit. I cannot believe that the OC is being cancelled! I cannot believe that it's not going to be around anymore...however, I think that the plot has slowly been getting worse and worse ever since like the second season... and now, that whole earthquake thing was so weird....but whatever. Even though it is so tragic about the show not being aired anymore, I really want to know what is going to happen to Ryan, Summer, Seth and Kaitlin....I guess we're all going to find out this Thursday (Thursday Feb. 22) at 9pm....

The designers were showcasing their silver and gold on their spring runways. I personally love the metallic look because I wear my silver and gold throughout the year and the other good thing-- you can wear it with everything!
